It works the same way as turning on wireless network by pressing Fn+F5 – unfortunately lenovo does not print this onto the keyboard. Maybe this will be useful for some of you: On some models or with certain software or bios versions you can turn on / off the webcam by pressing Fn+F6. This is incredibly frustrating, and Lenovo unhelpful for this known issue.Īny suggestions gratefully accepted – thanks! Have tried re-set BIOS to factory defaults, and installing updated integrated camera driver, but all fails. Happened after installing MS Office 2010 recently. Like Andy & James, I have NO device listed in Device Manager under “Imaging Devices”. I have used the camera in the past and after about a year, with regular system upgrades, it seems to have dissapeared. Like “Andy” I have NO device listed under “Imaging Devices” in Device Manager.

Hi, I do have the same Problem but my Webcam is not listed in the Device Manager – any suggestions? I do also have a X200 with Win 7 64 bit version. Will come back to you after some time of use.

I have just tried to rollback with universal driver as you adviced and seems to work properly.

I have an X200 and running W7 Pro and since I updated drivers with Lenovo tools (and thus installed Ricoh driver), camera started with strange behaviours (frozen images, image upside-down -yes really! -, quality loss.) resulting after some times with a black image. 24 Responses to “Lenovo Integrated Camera again working on Windows 7” To prevent Windows from doing so I uninstalled the driver package from “Programs and Features†in Control Panel. From now on it was working fine.Īfter some time Windows suddenly replaced this driver with the Ricoh one and the camera was broken again.

After installing the driver the device in device manager is called “USB Video Device†but after the reboot it is for some reason renamed to “Integrated Camera†but still using the Windows driver (that is the important part, you can check it in the properties sheet from within device manager). If Windows does not find this single one you can select it from the larger list by unchecking “Show compatible hardware†and choosing “Microsoft†/ “USB Video Deviceâ€:įor some reason it does not always work the moment I installed the new driver and I had to reboot the machine. On my machine it only shows up one compatible “USB Video Device†– just use that driver: Then “Browse my computer for driver software†and “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computerâ€

On the properties sheet choose Update driver The out-of-the-box Windows 7 driver works just fine! That driver package just does not work on my Windows 7 64bit machine. The driver from the Lenovo webpage is build by the camera vendor Ricoh. Maybe this is just an issue on my machine with my other software installed but maybe this is helpful for someone else. So I started to debug the problem by myself and figured the following out. Yesterday a Lenovo technician cam to replace the camera (I’m so glad to have on-site support and do not need to send the notebook in), but in the end the new webcam behaves exactly as the first one – just not working. After reinstalling drivers, taking to the Lenovo support hotline, installing exactly the driver I was told to it was still broken. My Lenovo X200 notebook comes with an integrated webcam and I’m using it pretty often for Skype calls etc.
